  • According to Mark Gurman, iOS 17 will include several highly requested features.
  • The update was originally set to be a small one, containing bug fixes and performance updates.
  • iOS 17 will be announced at WWDC in June.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 17, which was originally set to focus on bug fixes and performance enhancements, will now include several highly requested features. iOS 17 was originally set to be overshadowed by Apple’s Mixed Reality headset and rumored xrOS operating system.

Though Gurman has not detailed any specific new features, these “nice to have features” include the most-requested features that users have wanted for years. iOS 17 is codenamed “Dawn” internally. iOS 17Image credit: MacRumors Apple will announce iOS 17 at its WWDC event in June, alongside new updates to iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and macOS. It is also likely that Apple could introduce its heavily rumored headset project, which will run a new “xrOS” operating system.
