Kuo: Apple Watch Series 8 may include new temperature sensors, plus new AirPods rumors
- The Apple Watch Series 8 will reportedly feature body temperature sensors.
- New AirPods will also reportedly feature new health-tracking capabilities.
In a recent report on the Apple Watch Series 7 and its upcoming release, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (reliability: 80.95%) had a few things to say about the Apple Watch Series 8 and future AirPods.
He stated that he is optimistic about the demand for the 2022 Apple Watch because of its new health features. These features will reportedly include temperature sensors, enabling users to check if they have a fever or cold at any time. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg previously predicted these temperature sensors, and The Wall Street Journal stated that they would help with fertility planning.
In recent years, Apple has added many more health tracking features to the Apple Watch, including heart rate tracking, an ECG app, blood oxygen measuring, fall detection, and much more. The addition of body temperature sensors is the logical next step in making the Apple Watch the "future of health."
As for future AirPods, Kuo says they will include health tracking features but did not specify exactly what these features will be. In 2020, DigiTimes reported that a future version of AirPods would feature advanced health tracking capabilities that would enable them to track and monitor users' heart rate, step count, and health conditions. These could be the features that Kuo is talking about.
According to Kuo, Chinese supplier Luxshare Precision will be the "largest beneficiary" of these new health-tracking products.
