Redesigned iPod rumored for ‘huge’ December event
- A new iPod model could be unveiled later this year, marking the 20th anniversary of the iPod.
- Very little information has been shared, and the claims cannot be verified.
Apple could announce a new iPod touch, or all-new iPod model, at a dedicated event in December, technology blogger Scoble claims.
Taking to Twitter, he says that Apple will hold a ‘huge’ event in December where it could unveil a new iPod and the ‘3D future of Apple’. In a blog post from June, Scoble also mentioned that a new iPod would launch in the latter part of this year.
It also ties in with claims from Steve Mosser earlier this, suggesting that a new iPod touch would arrive this fall, after Apple expressed a renewed interest its once-flagship device. Although no details about the iPod touch were shared, if Apple plans to hold an event, it’s safe to assume that the device will be redesigned, similar to the new iPad mini.
Apple has neglected the iPod touch for years and last updated it with an A10 Bionic chip in early 2019. The design has remained fundamentally the same since it was introduced in 2011, and the iPod still doesn’t have Touch ID or Face ID biometric authentication.
We have given this article a low reliability rating because the information cannot be verified and the person who shared the information has no previous track record.
