1Password update for Mac to bring redesigned UI
- 1Password 8 brings a major overhaul with improved performance.
- The changes are available now in early access and will likely be rolled out in an update to the app later this year.
On Tuesday, 1Password revealed the next update to its Mac app, with a redesigned interface, improvements to performance, a more powerful search feature, and more. It is available to try today in the form of early access, although you’ll need to remove 1Password 7 first.
The user interface has undergone a revamp, with improved group labels, redesigned sidebar, and more color across the app. It now has a more native look and feel for macOS Big Sur and later, and has a tweaked dark mode.
Search has received updates too, and supports searching with terms, tags, websites, and other keywords. Additionally, an improved ‘Watchtower’ feature addresses security issues with your accounts, and comes alongside a new editor, with a new password generator, more indications of who passwords are being shared with, and improved integration with websites in Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox.
You can try out the early access preview of 1Password 8 now. There is currently no timeframe for when the new version will be available to all users.
