One of the most buzzworthy changes is the rumored shift to an OLED display. This technology, already introduced in the 2024 iPad Pro, should deliver more vibrant colors, higher contrast, and extra brightness. According to TheElec, Apple’s approach for the MacBook Pro involves a “two-stack tandem” OLED configuration—stacking two red, green, and blue layers to achieve longer-lasting brightness and clarity. By contrast, a future MacBook Air with OLED is likely to get just a single-stack panel, meaning it would have one layer of RGB. While single-stack may still offer impressive picture quality, two-stack tandem OLED in the MacBook Pro should take screen performance up a notch.
Meanwhile, research firm Omdia claims Apple might shrink the camera housing to a “rounded corner + hole cut”. Although it’s unclear whether this shape will match the iPhone’s “Dynamic Island,” it could be less intrusive than the current notch.
Slimmer & Sleeker
If you’re tired of lugging around a heavier notebook, there’s more good news. Gurman’s sources suggest Apple wants a thinner MacBook Pro in 2026, though final design details remain under wraps. In one of his Power On newsletters, Gurman wrote:

These interim updates could tide over those who want the latest chip but aren’t looking for a drastic redesign.
