Apple launches new high-end graphics card options for Mac Pro
- New graphic card models are available for the Mac Pro
- Prices range from $2,400 to $5,600 and can be purchased individually or with the purchase of a new Mac Pro
Apple has released three new graphics card options for the Intel-based Mac Pro. The new options are available now and include the AMD Radeon Pro W6800X, Radeon Pro W6800X Duo, and the Radeon Pro W6900X.
The graphics modules will be available to configure at checkout and also as an individual purchase for users to upgrade their current machines. Prices start at $2,400 for the W6800X, with 32GB GDDR6 RAM, and go up to $5,600.
The new models offer up to 23% faster performance in DaVinci Resolve and 84% faster performance in Octane X.
As noted by Rene Ritchie, AMD announced the new graphics cards in a press release, instead of Apple, suggesting that it is focused on developing a Mac Pro with Apple Silicon for release within the next year.
