- The Head of Engineering for Apple Retail is leaving the company after 10 years.
- Diogo Rau is joining Eli Lilly & Co to take the role of Senior Vice President.
- It is unclear who is going to take his place at Apple.
Diogu Rau, the Head of Engineering for Apple Retail, has announced on his LinkedIn that he will be leaving the company after 10 years. During his time with Apple, he led the development and implementation of technology that supports the Apple Online Store and Apple retail stores, including the e-commerce platform, mobile point of sale, the Apple Store App, as well as the systems used by store employees.
Rau first joined Apple back in April 2011. During his time with Apple, he helped Apple’s retail store’s expand astronomically and aided towards giving them the identity we know today - whilst also strengthening their entire retail presence around the globe. Apple Stores now serve as a community hub as well as a retail outlet where Apple’s customers feel right at home.
In his statement, Rau said that he will be taking the role of Senior Vice President and digital officer at Eli Lilly & Co, a pharmaceutical company based in the United States. The company is ranked 123rd on the 2019 Fortune 500, producing drugs like Prozac, Dolophine, Cymbalta and Zyprexa.
