After optimizing its Outlook app for Macs with Apple Silicon, Microsoft today announced that the app is now available on Mac for free, without the need for a Microsoft 365 subscription.
Though Microsoft has offered Outlook as a free app on iOS for years, until now the Mac version required a Microsoft 365 subscription or license to use. Now, users can use the app for free on Mac to access email, calendars, contacts, and more.
Outlook’s Mac app supports email providers including Outlook.com, Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo Mail, and more, and includes features such as advanced search and a unified inbox. As reported by The Verge, Outlook for Mac has also been optimized to run more efficiently on Apple Silicon chips.
