Find My network support for AirPods delayed until later this fall
- Find my network support delayed for AirPods.
- No reason was given for the delay.
A recent update to Apple’s iOS 15 features page indicates that Find My network support for the AirPods Pro and Max has been delayed until later this fall. This implies that this feature will not be available with the initial release of iOS 15.
There was no reason provided on the website for the delay. There are also several other iOS 15 features that have also been delayed until later this year such as SharePlay, legacy contacts, the ability to add a driver's license or state ID to the Wallet app and much more.
The find my feature that has been delayed will allow you to track your AirPods as long as someone else with an iPhone, iPad or Mac comes close to them. The find my network will be able to rely on an approximate location of the headphones and will securely and privately relay this information back to you.
