iPhone 13 pre-orders rumored for September 17, AirPods 3 in the following week
- Apple is rumored to open pre-orders for the new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro lineup on Friday 17th September, if a screenshot from a Chinese retailer is correct
- It will announce AirPods 3 and Apple Watch Series 7 at the same event
- No event has been confirmed by Apple
Apple could launch pre-orders for the iPhone 13 on Friday 17th September, according to a screenshot of a Chinese e-commerce app, spotted by IT Home.
The screenshot, which could’ve been easily faked, claims to show the release date for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models. It also suggests that AirPods 3 will launch in the following week, on Thursday 30th September.
Apple is expected to unveil new iPhone models, updated AirPods, and a redesigned Apple Watch at its first fall event, likely sometime in September. The event has been rumored to be held on Tuesday 14th September, in line with previous years.
All iPhone 13 models will see improvements to the camera, performance, and batteries, as well as minor design changes, including a smaller notch. The Pro models could include upgraded video capabilities, like ProRes support and Portrait Video, and will get 120Hz displays.
Although details about AirPods 3 have been scarce, Apple is expected to reduce the size of the earbuds with a new in-ear design similar to AirPods Pro. AirPods 3 will likely see sound improvements and force press gestures.
The Apple Watch Series 7 was recently rumored to be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes and will get a new flat design, with more colour options and improved speakers. The flat design will allow for thinner bezels and larger displays, and both sizes will be compatible with existing accessories.
Apple hasn't published invitations for a September event but does so at least one week prior, so expect to see an official confirmation on Tuesday 7th September.
