The second-generation HomePod is now available for purchase, priced at $299, and available in Midnight and White color options. The device is available in select countries including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.
Apple discontinued the original HomePod in 2021 due to its low popularity because of complaints of limited smarts compared to Amazon Echo products, as well as its high price. The latest model joins the HomePod mini and is similar in design to the original device but with some slight differences and new features.

The new HomePod has a refined design with a larger touch surface and removable power cable, and is powered by Apple's S7 chip. It features five tweeters, four far-field microphones, and new temperature and humidity sensors. The new HomePod also supports Spatial Audio and can be paired with another HomePod for stereo sound.
Early reviews indicate that the audio quality is similar to the original HomePod despite having fewer tweeters.
