A lot happened at Apple’s Event on Tuesday. They released a new, smaller HomePod speaker — as well as a whopping four new models of iPhone. We’ll be briefly going over the most notable moments from the event, 24 hours later.
Apple announced four new iPhones and a HomePod mini smart speaker during its "Hi, Speed" October event, which you can catch up with above. As expected, the star of the show was the iPhone 12, with four new models: an iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 will be available to pre-order from Friday 16 October and on sale from 23 October. The iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 mini will start pre-orders on Friday 6 November and ship from 13 November. All four models will come with 5G.
The new iPhones have displays that range in sizes between 5.4 inches to 6.7 inches. The company also confirmed that it will be keeping the iPhone 11 in the line-up but removing the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The new models will not come with a pair of EarPods in the box like previous years, nor will it include a charging brick. But thankfully, Apple has confirmed that they will be keeping a faster-charging Apple Lightning to USB-C cable in the box. The iPhone series will only include a charging brick in France, due to laws in the country.
In a separate announcement, Apple’s headphone brand Beats confirmed the launch of Beats Flex, an affordable follow up to the Beats X headphones. The company also unveiled a cheaper HomePod, but didn't launch the much-rumored over-ear AirPods Studio or AirTags.
