There may be ‘a few surprises’ at the Apple Event tomorrow, new report says

- New iPad Pro, along with iPad mini and maybe even a new entry-level iPad are coming on Tuesday, according to analyst Daniel Ives from Wedbush.
- Ives also suggested that an updated Apple Pencil could accompany the new iPad Pro models, as well as redesigned iMac models and the long-awaited AirTags.
- Apple may also show a teaser for AirPods 3, he said, which “are expected to be launched in a separate virtual launch in the early summer timeframe”.
It’s not long now. Apple sent out invitations last week for its first event of 2021 — ‘Spring Loaded” — scheduled to begin at 10 am PDT on Tuesday, April 20. And with just about 24 hours to go, the rumors are flying.
Apple has now confirmed that their next Apple Event ‘Spring Loaded’ will be held on Tuesday, April 20, at 10 a.m. PDT. You will be able to watch the Apple Event live on Apple’s website or YouTube. pic.twitter.com/ytkJj1E5gf

Daniel Ives, analyst at Wedbush, reported today about what will and won’t be coming in this week’s Apple special event. Top of the list, of course, is the iPad Pro, along with iPad mini and maybe even a new entry-level iPad. Ives went on to talk about what surprises could be in store, suggesting a new Apple Pencil could accompany the iPad Pro models, as well as new-design iMacs and the long-awaited AirTags. The most recent leaks have suggested that AirPods 3 were very nearly ready, though it should be said that the consistently accurate Ming-Chi Kuo (reliability: 80.95%) has been adamant that the next-generation AirPods won’t be launched until the fall. Ives said:
We believe Cook & Co. will likely give some hints around the new AirPods 3, which are expected to be launched in a separate virtual launch in the early summer timeframe.
Apple is also likely to announce several updates regarding their services, according to multiple new reports. On Monday, Recode Media host Peter Kafka posted on Twitter that he’s hearing that “Apple is preparing its own podcast plan – a paid subscription service,” which he expects to be unveiled at the upcoming event. Apple may also use the event to talk about some of its recent changes to Apple Arcade and highlight upcoming Apple TV+ content.
And as we reported last week, the company may announce several ‘spring themed’ MagSafe cases for iPhone 12 — and/or potentially several new iterations of Apple Watch bands. Read more about everything we expect to see at Apple’s upcoming event.
