Apple releases iCloud 12.5 for Windows with built-in password manager
- iCloud 12.5 for Windows brings UI updates and a dedicated password manager
- Support for iCloud Keychain means passwords will sync across devices
Apple has released iCloud 12.5 for Windows, with a built in password manager that will let you manage and access passwords from your PC.
The password manager is included when you download iCloud from the Microsoft Store. It supports viewing accounts and passwords, editing credentials and adding new ones, and will sync across your iPhone, iPad and Mac, if you are signed in with the same Apple ID. It also works with Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.
The design of the app is also based off WinUI, which means it appears natively on Windows 10, with support for the background ‘acrylic’ blur and other UI elements that Windows users are familiar with. Apple hasn't appeared to have updated the UI for Windows 11, nor even acknowledge support for it.
It could persuade users of third-party password managers, like LastPass and Bitwarden, to move over to iCloud Keychain if they currently rely on it to sync passwords between Apple and Windows devices.
Download iCloud 12.5 for Windows 10 and later from the Microsoft Store.
