Twitter user @InternalStore Tweeted 2 days ago that an 'Apple Music+' service, alongside third-generation AirPods, are coming via a press release on May 18th, at 6AM PST. It's still unclear what the service will ultimately be called, with recent reports referring to the service as 'Apple Music HiFi.'
Other notable Apple leakers such as Jon Prosser (reliability: 88.46%) and l0vetodream (reliability: 93.55%) have denied that this will happen. Internal Store extracted the raw video file, and note how there are mentions of 'Lossless', 'Dolby Atmos' and 'Dolby Audio.' Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology commonly used in movie theaters.
All of this information may mean that Apple will launch a higher tier of Apple Music with high fidelity audio and Spatial Audio — or that they may upgrade existing songs to have these features, similar to when Apple upgraded all iTunes movies and TV shows to 4K for no extra charge.
Even with WWDC21 just around the corner, the company have decided to tease this — making us think that the next WWDC may be so packed full of announcements that they couldn’t fit this one in.
