M1X MacBook Pros may hit shelves in “the next several weeks”
- Mark Gurman says the new heavily rumored M1X MacBook Pros will launch soon.
- These could be announced at a separate Apple event in October.
- New MacBook Pros could feature a slightly new design and additional ports.
With Apple poised to release the iPhone 13 lineup among other updated products on Tuesday, a new report has indicated that the long-awaited M1X MacBook Pro may be available in “the next several weeks.” In his Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman (reliability: 84.38%) teased that Apple has other announcements planned for this fall besides just its iPhone 13 event. These other announcements include new AirPods, a redesigned iPad Mini and entry-level iPad, and the new M1X MacBook Pro.
According to Gurman, the M1X MacBook Pros will be available in “the next several weeks,” following long delays.
M1X MacBook Pro: 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with high-end M1 chips, MagSafe magnetic charging, miniLED screens, and no Touch Bars are in the offing. After delays, look out for these to hit shelves in the next several weeks.
Even with these MacBook Pros coming so soon, we do not expect them to be announced at Tuesday’s event. Instead, it is expected that Apple will hold a separate event in October that will focus on the new Mac and iPad hardware.
As for changes to the new M1X MacBook Pros, we can reportedly expect flat edges, similar to the newer iPhones and iPads, as well as new ports such as HDMI, an SD card slot, and new MagSafe charging technology.
