Shortly following the release of iOS 16.4 to the public, Apple’s new classical music app has become available globally on the App Store. The app has been available for pre-order prior to this public release.
Apple Music Classical, aimed at fans of classical music, is included in Apple Music subscriptions and features a dedicated interface and feature set geared towards the genre. The app is based on Primephonic, following Apple’s acquisition of the classical music streaming service in 2021.

Apple published a new support article today, highlighting the importance of the new standalone classical music app.
Classical music is different. It has longer and more detailed titles, multiple artists for each work, and hundreds of recordings of well-known pieces. The Apple Music Classical app is designed to support the complex data structure of classical music.
The new app features improved search, organization, and more. It is available for download globally now through the App Store, with more information on Apple’s new Apple Music Classical website.
