- Apple will bring Voice Isolation to cellular calls with iOS 16.4.
- Voice Isolation prioritizes your voice over ambient noise, creating clearer calls.
- iOS 16.4 is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
After launching Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum audio modes with iOS 15, Apple is set to bring Voice Isolation to cellular calls soon. The feature was previously limited to apps like FaceTime and WhatsApp, and was not available on cellular calls.
With iOS 16.4 set to be released to the public very soon, Apple will bring the feature to cellular calls, according to its release notes. Voice Isolation “prioritizes your voice and blocks out ambient noise around you,” creating clearer calls in which people can be heard better over background noises.
To enable Voice Isolation for cellular calls, open Control Center, tap Mic Mode, and select the Voice Isolation option while calling someone. For now, Wide Spectrum mode is not available for cellular calls, and continues to be limited to FaceTime and other third-party apps.
