  • Apple is now already working on iOS 16.5, following the release of iOS 16.4.

Apple released its long-awaited iOS 16.4 update Monday, breaking the usual Tuesday release cycle. For older iPhone users, Apple has also released iOS 15.7.4. This means the iPhone 6S, released over seven years ago, has just received another update.

The new iOS 16.4 update contains numerous features, and over 30 security and bug fixes, which is way more than usual. For starters, there are 21 new emojis available for use, including 3 new heart colors, new animals, and a new face. This comes after the feature was initially limited to FaceTime and other apps when shipped with iOS 15 last year. Furthermore, other updates include multiple HomeKit bugs that have been fixed, along with the new HomeKit architecture that was removed in iOS 16.2.
