Analyst: iPhone 13 Pro to get 1TB storage option with all models launching in mid-September
- The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro could be available in the third week of September
- Pro models could also get a new 1TB storage option
According to Daniel Ives, Apple will launch all iPhone 13 models in the third week of September. It follows a delayed release last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The analyst also claims that the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be available with a new 1TB storage option, the highest storage capacity offered on any iPhone to date, if correct. This ties in with the rumored camera improvements, with ProRes video, upgraded ultra-wide lens and more detail in images expected to require more storage.
Our recent Asia supply chain checks for 2H put iPhone builds between 130M-150M. The iPhone 13 appears to represent 35%-45% of iPhone builds in Q3, this positive outlook gives us enhanced confidence that 2021's launch timing will be "normal"
If true, the iPhone 13 could stick with the same 64GB, 128GB and 256GB options as the iPhone 12, but the Pro models could have 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options at purchase.
Ives also says that all Apple will roll out the LiDAR sensor to all iPhone 13 models, a claim he has stuck by since March. It’s important to note, however, that Ives has a poor track record and has been incorrect multiple times. He recently claimed that Apple would announce new MacBook Pro models at WWDC, and that Apple would ‘tease’ AirPods 3 at the March event.
