- Bloomberg reports that Apple is moving its focus to sales in India.
- India will reportedly become its own sales region for the first time.
- This follows a VP's departure.
According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is reorganizing its international sales arrangement “to put a bigger focus on India.” For the first time, India will reportedly become its own sales region within Apple, giving the country more value and prominence.
Due to the fast-growing demand for Apple products in the large country, this shift of priorities makes sense. India is the second-largest smartphone market in the world, so this could also be a big reason Apple is doing this.

Bloomberg’s report says that this change follows the departure of Hughes Asseman, the VP in charge of sales and operations within India and other parts of the world. Though these changes to Apple’s sales organization are not public, the report indicates that “people with knowledge of the matter” have shared this information.
Recently, Apple started manufacturing some iPhone models in India, including the iPhone 14. Foxconn, Apple’s iPhone supplier, has invested over $500 million in the country to up production capacities.
