Gurman: Apple Watch Series 7 to be announced in September despite production delays
- Apple still plans to announce the Apple Watch Series 7 later this month.
- The device has reportedly suffered production issues.
- The new models will get larger displays, flatter edges and more colors.
Last week, it was revealed that Apple has temporarily stopped small-scale production of the upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 due to manufacturing issues. According to Bloomberg, Apple will still announce the update to the Apple Watch, but could release it in batches.
Mark Gurman suggests three scenarios, the most likely of which is that the announcement will still take place at an event this month but the device will ship in limited quantities. Alternatively, the announcement will be pushed back until issues are resolved and finally, the Apple Watch Series 7 is announced but will be released at a date in the future.
While the Apple Watch Series 7 will still likely be announced at the September event, Gurman says that it will be available in “small quantities” and some models may ship later than expected.
The Apple Watch Series 7 will feature a new design with larger 41mm and 45mm displays, new exclusive watch faces, more colours, louder speakers and other improvements.
