Even though iPhone 12 was unveiled only a few short days ago, the rumors for iPhone 13 have already begun. It seems iPhone 12 may have disappointed some fans who wished for a smaller notch, 120hz displays and the return of Touch ID. But thankfully, new information from several sources are claiming that the next generation iPhone will feature all 3 of these killer features.
According to rumors, the 2021 iPhone lineup will look similar to the 2020 iPhone lineup, with four devices in sizes that include 5.4-inches, 6.1-inches, and 6.7-inches. Two of the iPhones will be higher-end "Pro" devices, while the other two will be positioned as mid-range and lower-cost.
Since the design has just been updated with the release of the iPhone 12 series a few days ago, no major design changes will be coming - and we can say that for certain. The iPhone 13 will have the same general design as the iPhone 12 series, with a few noticeable exterior changes - as we all know Apple likes to do.
Rumors are suggesting that at least one iPhone 13 model will be completely portless, relying entirely on MagSage charging than a Lightning port. Apple may also shrink the notch in 2021, with one rumor suggesting a shallower notch - with only the height being reduced, rather than reducing the width.
When it comes to photography, rumors are suggesting that we may see improved stabilization and high-end 40 to 64-megapixel camera lenses, along with a four-camera setup.
And of course we can’t forget the display - rumors are suggesting that 2021 could be the year that Apple finally adopts 120Hz ProMotion displays, which will be made possible by a move to lower-power LTPO OLED panels.
It’s still unclear what the next-generation iPhone will be called. ‘iPhone 13,’ and ‘iPhone 12s’ are both names that have been circulating, and would match up with Apple’s iPhone naming history. The new iPhone range will almost certainly likely be unveiled in October or November of 2021.
