iPhone 13 Pro tidbits: 1TB storage, brighter displays, dual eSIM support and more
- The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max bring 1TB storage for the first time.
- The devices have larger cameras and expanded 5G support.
Apple has announced the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max with improved cameras, ProMotion, larger batteries, A15 Bionic chip and more. They will be available to pre-order from Friday September 17, and available on Friday September 24, for $999 and $1099 respectively.
Apple Scoop will have a full guide to iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro later this week.
Both iPhone 13 Pro models have the same upgraded camera technology, including improved ultra-wide lens, better low-light performance and ProRes video support. The size of the cameras on both models has been increased, although the difference is more notable on the 6.1-inch model.
They also have increased 1000 nits typical max brightness, an increase over the 800 nits on the iPhone 12 Pro. Max brightness in HDR remains the same at 1200 nits.
The iPhone 13 Pro is available with 1TB storage for the first time, priced at $1499 and $1599. Unlike on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, Apple hasn’t increased the base storage from 128GB, but continues to offer 256GB and 512GB versions.
Additionally, Apple says that all iPhone 13 models support Dual SIM with regular SIM and eSIM. On older models, there was no way to use two eSIMs at the same time.
iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro also have expanded support for mmWave 5G and more bands.
