- Bloomberg reports that Tim Cook’s tenure as Apple CEO could come to an end in 2025 or later.
- Cook will receive the full payout of shares in four years time.
Tim Cook could leave Apple in 2025 and will be around for the announcement of one more “major product” category, Mark Gurman shared in the Power On newsletter on Sunday.
Cook, who became CEO in 2011 following Steve Jobs’ resignation, turns 61 this year and has been at the company for over 20 years. He is expected to receive the final payout of one million shares allocated to him in the past decade in 2025, and could depart from Apple then.
Apple has been rumored to unveil a mixed reality headset, following the strong path it has set with augmented reality on the iPhone and iPad. It will launch the product next year, but is still developing smaller glasses that are many years away.
Under Tim Cook’s leadership, Apple has released the Apple Watch, AirPods, redesigned operating systems, Apple Card and other innovations.
