Apple fixes macOS Monterey bug that bricked Intel Macs with T2 chip

Apple has fixed an issue that prevented Intel-based Macs with the T2 chip from booting up correctly, bricking devices.

The problem was due to a firmware issue on the T2 chip. It has been resolved with a new version of bridgeOS, the chip’s firmware, and in the latest versions of macOS. Apple says users who cannot boot their Mac should contact them to fix the issue as soon as possible. A full list of T2 Mac models can be found here.

Customers with an M1 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini, 24-inch iMac and M1 Pro or M1 Max 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro are not affected.
